Long Distance Cross‑Border Drivers – Walvis Bay

About the role

Wesbank Transport is seeking two experienced long‑distance drivers to operate cross‑border routes from its Walvis Bay depot. The role involves transporting freight safely between Namibia and neighboring countries while complying with all safety, security and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe handling, loading and off‑loading of consignments, reporting any damage or anomalies before departure.
• Transport freight securely across borders and obtain proof of delivery and required documentation from customers.
• Follow company procedures for refuelling, fuel‑card use, petty cash and other operational policies.
• Complete trip sheets and MDC registers accurately and submit them promptly for payment processing.
• Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report defects immediately and maintain a clean, neat cab and truck.
• Adhere to health, safety, road‑safety and security regulations, including inspections and quality checks.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with a valid passport.
• Code 14, CE driver’s licence (minimum five years old) and a valid PDP (Dangerous Goods) endorsement.
• At least five years of cross‑border driving experience and familiarity with documentation processes.
• Knowledge of routes to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans, high attention to detail and sober habits.
• Recent police clearance (not older than three months).
