Local Fleet Supervisor – Logistics & Fleet Management

About the role

The Local Fleet Supervisor will oversee maintenance, planning and operational efficiency of the Jet.X Couriers fleet based in Windhoek. This role ensures optimal vehicle utilisation, cost control and driver performance across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage maintenance planning and scheduling for the local fleet.
• Plan loads, routes, driver schedules and allocate appropriate vehicles to optimise operations.
• Control costs in line with the approved budget.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip briefings and oversee driver management.
• Administer fuel cards, fuel usage and related reporting.
• Maintain tracking boards and ensure accurate trip documentation.
• Reconcile petty cash and manage trip monies for drivers.
• Oversee administrative duties related to transport, including paperless delivery devices.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification (minimum 23 points) with a Certificate in Transport and Logistics.
• At least 3 years of experience in logistics and fleet management.
• Strong knowledge of route planning, vehicle tracking and driver management.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities.
• Technical understanding of vehicle load capacity and operational functionality.
• Valid Namibian citizenship and a current CE driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Technical knowledge of vehicle specifications and functionality.
