Line Haul Drivers – Cross‑border (Zambia) – Namibia

About the role

These positions report to the Central Africa Manager and are based in Windhoek. The drivers will be responsible for safe, secure and timely transport of freight on Zambia cross‑border routes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe handling, loading and off‑loading of consignments, reporting any damages or anomalies before departure.
• Transport freight securely and deliver to designated areas, obtaining proof of delivery and required documents.
• Follow company procedures for refuelling, fuel cards, petty cash and other policies.
• Complete MDC register and trip sheets accurately and submit them on time for payment.
• Comply with health, safety, road‑safety and client site regulations.
• Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report defects immediately.
• Maintain a clean and neat truck and cab at all times.
• Handle fragile, fridge‑line and high‑value consignments correctly.
• Adhere to security measures such as unpacking, inspections and quality checks.
• Carry out any other duties related to the responsibilities of a Line Haul Driver.

Required profile

• Valid Grade 10/12 qualification (minimum 23 points) and age over 25.
• At least 5 years of cross‑border driving experience on Zambia routes.
• Knowledge of Zambia routes; mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
• Valid Code CE driver’s licence, valid PDP and passport.
• Dangerous Goods Certificate (preferred).
• Police clearance certificate issued within the last 3 months, no criminal record.
• Namibian citizenship.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver freight without damage.
• Customer‑focused attitude, presentable appearance and good communication skills.
• Sober habits and reliable work ethic.

Required skills

• Code CE driver’s licence.
• Dangerous Goods handling certification.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle troubleshooting.
