IT Technician – Windhoek

About the role

The IT Technician is the first line of defence for IT support at the Namibia Tourism Board. You will provide hands‑on assistance, from installing and configuring devices to resolving software, hardware, printing and connectivity issues, working closely with end‑users across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to user requests via calls, chats, emails or walk‑ups, log and resolve tickets remotely or onsite, and triage hardware/software issues (PC, Mac, mobile devices, printers, VPNs, Wi‑Fi).
• Provision and configure workstations, mobile devices and peripherals using standard images and scripts; apply patches, antivirus updates and system upgrades.
• Support LAN/Wi‑Fi connectivity, perform basic network testing (speed, ping, traceroute), manage DHCP/DNS resets and printer sharing.
• Ensure devices comply with security policies, enforce password and antivirus standards, and assist with audits and incident mitigation.
• Maintain knowledge‑base articles, standard operating procedures and train users on software applications and IT tools.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in information technology or related field; CompTIA A+ strongly preferred, Network+ and Microsoft Modern Desktop Admin advantageous.
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
• Comfortable working with Windows, macOS and basic Linux environments, including OS installation and software deployment.
