Fleet Manager

About the role

Namibia-Experience is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the safety, reliability and readiness of its tourism vehicle fleet. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on maintenance, ensuring every vehicle meets the high standards required for tours across Namibia and Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the company fleet, guaranteeing vehicles are safe, road‑worthy and clean.
• Plan and schedule regular services, inspections, repairs and minor maintenance tasks.
• Identify and resolve mechanical or technical issues promptly.
• Coordinate with external workshops, tyre suppliers, panel beaters and dealerships.
• Maintain accurate records of services, licences, road‑worthy certificates, tyre usage and related costs.
• Ensure all licences, permits and insurance documentation are up‑to‑date.
• Monitor fuel consumption, tyre wear, vehicle damage and overall fleet performance.
• Support breakdown management and provide operational problem‑solving on the road.
• Assist in developing fleet procedures and preventative maintenance systems.
• Train and guide drivers, guides and other staff on basic vehicle maintenance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; a recognised technical qualification in motor or diesel mechanics, automotive engineering or fleet management is a strong advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance or workshop coordination.
• Hands‑on experience with 4x4 vehicle services, inspections and basic repairs.
• Mechanically competent, highly organised, reliable and safety‑conscious.
• Ability to work closely with drivers, guides, operations staff and external suppliers.
