Cross Border Driver (Windhoek)

About the role

This position reports to the Depot Manager and is based in Windhoek at Brakwater. The driver is responsible for the safe and secure handling, loading and transport of cross‑border consignments across Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe handling, loading and off‑loading of consignments, being present during loading and reporting any damages or anomalies.
• Deliver consignments to designated areas, obtain proof of delivery and required documentation from customers.
• Follow company procedures for refuelling, fuel‑card use, petty cash and other operational policies.
• Complete MDC register and trip sheets accurately and submit them promptly for calculation and payment.
• Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report defects immediately and keep the truck and cab clean.
• Handle fragile, refrigerated and high‑value items according to required standards.
• Adhere to health, safety, road‑safety and security regulations on both company and customer premises.

Required profile

• Grade 10/12 with at least five years’ experience in cross‑border operations and documentation.
• Namibian citizen with a valid passport.
• Code 14, CE driver’s licence (minimum five years old) and a valid PDP for dangerous goods.
• Good knowledge of destinations: Namibia, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and sober habits.
• Recent police clearance (not older than three months).
