Captain & First Officer – ERJ 135/145 Flight Crew

About the role

Westair Aviation is seeking experienced pilots to operate its ERJ‑135/145 fleet as Captains and First Officers. The successful candidates will ensure safe, efficient flights across Africa while maintaining the highest standards of passenger comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the aircraft in compliance with all regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct pre‑flight inspections, review flight plans and weather data.
• Communicate with air traffic control and navigate during all phases of flight.
• Perform take‑offs, landings and manage aircraft systems.
• Respond to emergencies and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with co‑pilots, cabin crew and ground personnel for smooth operations.
• Maintain accurate flight records and fulfill reporting requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Required profile

• Valid ATPL (Captain) or CPL/ATPL (First Officer) issued by SACAA or NCAA.
• ERJ‑135/145 type rating.
• Minimum total flight time: 3 000 h (Captain) or 1 000 h (First Officer).
• Minimum PIC time on type: 500 h (Captain) or 100 h (First Officer).
• At least 1 500 h PIC on multi‑engine turbine/jet aircraft (Captain) or 100 h PIC on multi‑engine turbine (First Officer).
• Willingness to undertake extended deployments (6‑12 weeks) in Africa.
• Preference given to Namibian citizens.
