C1 Heavy Vehicle Driver

About the role

Seapride Foods is seeking a reliable C1‑licensed driver to operate a rigid heavy vehicle (9 000–16 000 kg GCM) for the safe transport of goods. The role involves daily trips, cargo handling, and maintaining the cold‑chain integrity of perishable products.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the assigned vehicle in compliance with traffic regulations and company SOPs.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections using checklists and report any safety or environmental concerns.
• Load and unload cargo accurately, verify invoices and route sheets, and ensure the cold chain is preserved.
• Maintain clean and tidy vehicle conditions, record fuel usage, and debrief performance after each journey.
• Handle cash or cheque collections, adhere to payment terms, and complete all required paperwork.
• Supervise the Vehicle Assistant’s conduct and appearance during trips.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for operational improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 education (Grade 12 preferred).
• C1 driver’s licence with a current PDP‑G endorsement and proof of no outstanding traffic fines.
• Clean driving record and ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans.
• Thorough, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Good knowledge of Windhoek city routes.
