Assistant Procurement Officer (Public Procurement)

About the role

The Assistant Procurement Officer supports the Namibia Tourism Board in coordinating and executing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with public procurement laws and delivering value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of procurement plans, RFQs, RFPs and other solicitation documents.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and contract files for audit compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors to track orders, verify deliveries and ensure contract terms are met.
• Support compliance with Namibia’s Public Procurement Act and Tender Board Act, preparing reports for management.
• Provide administrative support for bid openings, evaluation meetings and procurement committee sessions.

Required profile

• Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration or related field (NQF Level 6–7).
• Minimum three years of relevant procurement or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Namibia’s Public Procurement Act and Tender Board regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken English with high attention to detail and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with procurement or accounting information systems.
• Ability to manage supplier master data and conduct due‑diligence checks.
