Admin Intern – Short Haul Containers (Walvis Bay)

About the role

Wesbank Transport, a division of FP du Toit Transport, is seeking an enthusiastic Admin Intern to support the Short Haul Container Department at its Walvis Bay depot. The role offers hands‑on experience in logistics administration, data reconciliation and customer service within a dynamic transport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process and reconcile job cards and trip sheets using Excel.
• Check, reconcile and capture container movements on Excel and report discrepancies to the manager.
• File and manage trip sheets, gate‑in/out records, fleet control documents and driver paperwork.
• Perform monthly container stock count reconciliations and flag non‑conformances.
• Maintain driver files, update project files quarterly and liaise with relevant companies.
• Assist with ordering stationery for the Short Haul department.
• Support ISO compliance implementation and maintenance.
• Handle customer queries and provide reception or switchboard coverage when needed.
• Create orders in SAP, follow up on invoices and send verified vehicle checklists to the workshop.

Required profile

• Namibian citizenship with a Grade 12 qualification, currently studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Transport and Logistics Management.
• Basic administrative experience; transport‑industry exposure is an advantage.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence and recent police clearance (≤ 3 months).
• Strong English proficiency, sober habits and excellent interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP (preferred).
