Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

FNB is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join its talent team. You will be responsible for analysing financial data, supporting budgeting processes, and preparing accurate financial statements in line with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
• Engage with business units to understand performance, identify trends, and improve reporting processes.
• Prepare divisional income statements, balance sheets, budgets, and monthly suspense account summaries.
• Compile and manage budgets and forecasts per business unit and support budget presentations.
• Interpret financial data against budgets and forecasts to provide actionable insights.
• Manage the fixed‑asset lifecycle and oversee key operational renewals.
• Maintain expert knowledge of legislative changes and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accounting with completed articles signed off by the Public Accountants’ and Auditors’ Board.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years at a junior specialist level.
• Banking or financial industry experience is an advantage.
