Registered Nurse – Surgical Unit

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Surgical Unit. The successful candidate will provide safe, comprehensive nursing care within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high‑quality patient outcomes in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Support staff development and competence through a learning environment.
• Ensure proper charging of all utilised stock and equipment.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Midwifery postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty is desired.
• No minimum experience required; one year postgraduate qualification experience in a specialised unit is preferred.

• Pharmacology knowledge.

• Patient assessment skills.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Development and modification of nursing care plans.

• Proficiency in nursing processes and procedures.
