Donor Engagement Senior Advisor - Gulf Region

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a senior advisor to lead donor engagement across key Gulf region partners. Reporting to the Director for Global Donor Engagement, you will drive the Business Development strategy for the Persian Gulf, building and maintaining relationships with major government donors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement and influence with Qatar Fund for Development, Islamic Development Bank, King Salman Relief Center and UAE Office of Development Affairs.
• Provide “account management” support for these donors, coordinating internal teams to ensure compliance and risk management.
• Develop and implement proactive relationship strategies and business development plans for Gulf donors.
• Collaborate with the Awards Management Unit, International Division and External Relations to align funding proposals with donor priorities.
• Represent IRC in institutional and public liaison activities, advising senior leadership on Gulf donor policies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in donor relations, fundraising or business development within the humanitarian or international development sector.
• Strong knowledge of Gulf region donor landscape and government funding mechanisms.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex multi‑donor portfolios.
• Excellent analytical, communication and coordination skills.
