Debrief Clerk

About the role

The Debrief Clerk ensures that all delivery documentation, cash, returns and route information are accurately reconciled once delivery vehicles return from the field. This position supports efficient FMCG distribution by verifying driver and van activities and capturing operational data.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify delivery paperwork from drivers and van assistants.
• Reconcile invoices, proof of deliveries, returns, credits, cash and customer payments.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, overages, damages and delivery variances.
• Process returns, credits and claims in the appropriate system.
• Support stock control and inventory accuracy through proper reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate filing and record‑keeping of all distribution documents.
• Assist with daily route close‑off and operational reporting.
• Monitor driver compliance with company policies and route procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Previous experience in FMCG distribution, logistics or transport operations is preferred.
• Experience in debriefing, reconciliation or administrative roles is advantageous.
• Eligibility to work in the country of employment.
