Personal Lines Claims Negotiator

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a motivated Personal Lines Claims Negotiator to manage the end‑to‑end settlement of insurance claims. You will act as the primary liaison between brokers, clients, assessors and internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate claim resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and settle personal lines insurance claims from initiation to closure.
• Maintain continuous communication with brokers, clients and assessors regarding claim status.
• Process claim payments and perform quality checks on all transactions.
• Deliver high‑quality service to achieve customer satisfaction and meet performance standards.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with customers, brokers and suppliers.
• Identify and report process issues to minimise fraud.
• Collaborate with the claims team to meet service level agreements.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Namibian citizenship.
• Grade 12 with at least 25 points.
• Degree from a recognised institution.
• 1‑2 years experience in personal insurance negotiation (advantage).
• Relevant short‑term insurance qualification such as COP (advantage).
• Detail‑oriented, high energy, able to work under pressure and independently.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Computer literacy (MS Office or equivalent).
• Strong numeric and analytical abilities.
