About the role
Join Baker Hughes as a Field Services Specialist Intern and gain hands‑on experience in oilfield equipment servicing and mechanical maintenance. This 2026 Emerging Talent program is designed for recent graduates in Mechanical Engineering who want to work on real projects in a global energy company.
Key responsibilities
- Complete internal projects that deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements.
- Learn and use internal software tools to support project execution.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and other interns, networking with global business leaders.
- Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all activities.
- Acquire practical experience in oilfield equipment servicing and mechanical maintenance.
- Develop professional skills in customer interaction and technical reporting.
- Gain a solid understanding of safety standards and quality assurance in the Oil & Gas industry.
Required profile
- Graduated within the last 2 years with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical school).
- GPA of at least 3.0/5.0 or equivalent.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Legally able to work in Namibia without sponsorship.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics and industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with MS Office; ability to use design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is an advantage.
- Proactive, innovative, and willing to travel and work in challenging field environments.
