Tyre Fitter – Full-time in Swakopmund, Namibia

About the role

As a Tyre Fitter you will ensure that vehicles in Swakopmund operate safely by selecting, fitting and maintaining tyres for a range of vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy‑duty trucks. You will work on‑site at Bridgestone’s facility, following manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Mount new tyres onto vehicle rims using appropriate machinery and tools.
• Clean and paint rims before fitting tyres.
• Fit wheels correctly, including dual‑wheel configurations.
• Inflate tyres to manufacturer specifications and perform pressure and torque checks.
• Torque wheel nuts to the required specifications.
• Report any defects such as studs, washers or wheel nuts to the site supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, handle tools and equipment with care, and ensure dressing rooms are presentable.
• Provide friendly customer service and advise the supervisor on appropriate actions.
• Complete tyre change slips and survey reports accurately and submit them on time.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Certificate (or equivalent).
• Basic knowledge of tyre types, sizes and handling techniques.
• Physical stamina to perform manual lifting and standing for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operation of tyre mounting equipment.
• Rim cleaning and painting.
• Use of pressure gauges and torque wrenches.
• Application of safety standards in tyre fitting.
