Risk Management Unit Team Leader

About the role

The Risk Management Unit Team Leader ensures that specialist trade deals comply with product‑specific frameworks, monitors the trade life‑cycle, and manages contractual and risk obligations. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high service standards and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute payment due‑diligence processes within prescribed turnaround times, ensuring compliance with Exchange Control rulings, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders to support payment strategy objectives, meet SLAs and foster strong customer relationships.
• Promote accuracy and quality by minimizing processing errors, rework and associated financial impacts.
• Coordinate internal control reviews, audits, FIC reviews, compliance reviews and regulatory inspections, supplying accurate information and documentation.
• Monitor audit, compliance and regulatory findings, ensuring timely implementation of action plans and risk mitigation.
• Maintain audit readiness by ensuring payment validation processes and records meet applicable rulings and standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to manage audit, compliance and regulatory engagements and drive continuous improvement of controls.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Finance or a related qualification.
• 3‑4 years of trade services experience, including back‑to‑backs, open account trade finance, risk participation, trade loans, exchange control and escrow accounts.
• Experience with trade loans and commodity finance.
• Previous corporate banking experience within trade operations or transaction management units.
