Multi‑Skilled Banking Consultant

About the role

The Multi‑Skilled Consultant will deliver world‑class service at our Luderitz branch, handling teller transactions, client enquiries and supporting cross‑sell opportunities. The role combines cash handling, inter‑bank transfers, risk compliance and brand representation to ensure a seamless banking experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process teller transactions, inter‑bank transfers and prepare required documents for courier hand‑over.
• Authenticate clients and transactions, adhering to fraud prevention policies and escalating exceptions to the Team Leader.
• Reconcile cash on hand and bank cheques against system balances at start, end and regular intervals, reporting discrepancies immediately.
• Maintain counter and drop‑safe limits in line with policy to minimise losses.
• Provide courteous service by greeting clients, listening to needs and delivering appropriate solutions.
• Identify sales leads and refer clients to relevant departments for product cross‑selling.
• Participate in Nedbank culture initiatives, corporate responsibility programmes and continuous improvement activities.
• Stay updated on risk, compliance and regulatory requirements through newsletters and training sessions.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or National Senior Certificate; commercial subjects preferred.
• Diploma in banking or related field is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and ability to follow procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to contribute to team goals and corporate culture.
