Mining Planner – Underground Base Metals (Namibia)

About the role

An established mining operation in Namibia is seeking an experienced Mining Planner to join its Technical Services team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining underground mine plans while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to optimise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short‑, medium‑ and long‑term underground mine plans.
• Produce detailed mine designs and production schedules.
• Optimise mine layouts and extraction sequences.
• Conduct production reconciliation and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with geology, production, maintenance, metallurgy and HSE teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and mine optimisation initiatives.
• Ensure planning activities comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years underground mining experience.
• At least 3 years in a mine planning role.
• Experience in underground base metals operations is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Deswik or similar mine planning software.
• Strong understanding of mine scheduling.
• Geological modelling.
• Grade control.
• Underground mining methods.
