Merchandiser – Retail Stock Management

About the role

The Building Company is seeking a Merchandiser to ensure that all stock in its retail outlet is accurately positioned, neatly displayed, and maintained in a clean condition. You will support customers, drive sales, and uphold merchandising standards for building‑material products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain stock placement, binning, and display across racks, bays, and gondolas.
• Provide customer service, assist shoppers, and promote product promotions.
• Achieve sales and gross profit targets while managing the customer base.
• Perform administrative tasks such as reporting damaged stock, stock depletion, and regular stock‑takes.
• Receive, check, and return stock as needed, ensuring compliance with merchandising standards.
• Maintain equipment and uphold company values and culture.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar merchandising or shelf‑packing role.
• Knowledge of the building‑material retail environment.
• Proven ability to meet personal sales targets and deliver strong customer service.
• Capability to coordinate regular stock takes and interact effectively with customers.
