About the role
The Inspector III will independently inspect mineral oil products, crude oil and related cargoes, ensuring cleanliness, quantity accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct cleanliness inspections of containers, tanks, vessels, trucks and rail cars.
- Determine quantities using temperature measurements and calculations.
- Sample products, label, seal and store samples according to journal records.
- Prepare documentation, issue certificates and generate computerized inspection reports.
- Maintain inspection equipment and communicate with terminals, refineries and vessel crews.
Required profile
- Minimum Grade 12 education with strong mathematics, accounting and computer skills.
- At least 5 years of experience as a petroleum inspector.
- Ability to work under pressure, resist bribes and handle changing workloads.
- Good communication, business‑like contact with third parties and calm reaction to incidents.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of temperature measurement, quantity calculation and sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with Saybolt standards and API Chapter 17.
- Computer literacy for inspection software and data entry.
