Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will lead the design and delivery of pipelines that turn unstructured and semi‑structured content into clean, structured datasets. Working remotely, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality data extraction across multiple domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement extraction pipelines for legal contracts, medical records, financial reports, news articles, and technical documentation.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, define sampling strategies, and oversee annotation teams.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, and F1 metrics; conduct error analysis and iterate on guidelines or model architecture.
• Assess, integrate, and customize open‑source and commercial information extraction tools.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains quickly, building accurate domain‑specific guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, computational linguistics, or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Proven ability to design annotation schemas and clear extraction guidelines.
• Deep understanding of evaluation methodologies for extraction tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, and Stanford CoreNLP.
• Designing and managing annotation projects for complex extraction tasks.
• Evaluating models using precision, recall, F1 and conducting error analysis.
