Head of Factory

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Factory to lead a high‑volume seafood processing plant in Lüderitz, Namibia. This senior leadership position is responsible for delivering production, quality and cost targets while fostering a strong safety and continuous‑improvement culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all factory operations to achieve production, quality and cost objectives.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements and yield optimisation.
• Oversee plant performance, maintenance and equipment availability.
• Lead large multidisciplinary teams and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, food‑safety and regulatory standards.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Partner closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial and other business functions.
• Support budgeting, cost control and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• 10‑15 years’ experience leading factory or plant operations.
• Proven experience managing large industrial workforces.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning and process optimisation.
• Experience operating within a unionised environment.
• Solid knowledge of HSE and quality management systems.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Professional‑level English.
