General Assistant – Retail Store

About the role

Pepkor Lifestyle is looking for an energetic and reliable General Assistant to join our store team. You will support daily retail operations by keeping the store clean and compliant, maintaining stocked and attractive displays, delivering exceptional customer service, and collaborating with your colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Housekeeping: maintain daily cleanliness of kitchen, toilets and store areas to OHASA standards, keeping aisles neat and displays safe.
• Stock & Merchandising: unpack deliveries, stock shelves, conduct stock counts, display promotional posters, apply suite treatments and report any loss or damage.
• Customer Centricity: deliver excellent service, assist with customer conflict resolution and exceed expectations in line with the service code.
• Teamwork & Self‑Management: prioritize daily workloads, build positive workplace relationships and actively develop personal skills.

Required profile

• Education: Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of work as a general worker.
• Knowledge: Understanding of OHASA legislation, retail customer‑service best practices and store policies.
