Fitter / Wheel Alignment Technician – Oshakati, Namibia

About the role

As a Fitter / Wheel Alignment Technician you will ensure vehicles are equipped with safe, correctly fitted tyres and wheels. Working at our Oshakati site you will handle a variety of vehicles from passenger cars to heavy‑duty trucks, maintaining high standards of performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Mount new tyres onto vehicle rims using appropriate machinery and tools.
• Clean, paint and prepare rims before fitting tyres.
• Fit wheels correctly, match dual wheels, and inflate tyres to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform pressure and torque checks, torque wheel nuts to required specifications.
• Inspect and report any defects such as studs, washers or wheel nuts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, handle tools and equipment responsibly.
• Complete tyre change slips and survey reports accurately and submit them on time.
• Provide friendly customer service and advise the site supervisor on appropriate actions.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and use personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of tyre types, sizes and handling techniques.
• Physical stamina to perform manual lifting and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Required skills

• Tyre fitting and removal.
• Use of tyre mounting machinery.
• Rim cleaning and painting.
• Pressure and torque checking.
• Wheel nut torquing to manufacturer specifications.
