Diesel Mechanic – Maintenance Team

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on our diesel‑powered fleet and equipment while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Use computerized diagnostic equipment and engine analyzers to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Perform complex repairs such as engine overhauls, fuel‑injection adjustments, turbocharger, piston and cooling‑system replacements.
• Execute routine preventative‑maintenance tasks including oil changes, fluid flushes, filter swaps and tire rotations.
• Inspect and service hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, exhaust and emissions‑control systems.
• Maintain accurate digital service records, work logs and parts inventory using shop‑management software.
• Conduct federal and state safety inspections and emissions testing for regulatory compliance.
• Test‑drive heavy‑duty vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose performance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; diesel‑technology program or vocational degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience on medium to heavy‑duty diesel engines.
• ASE Diesel certifications (T‑series) are a strong plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lb, stand for long periods and work in confined spaces.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite and CAT ET.
• Experience using pneumatic wrenches, multimeters and welding equipment.
• Ability to operate shop‑management software for documentation and inventory.
