Diesel Mechanic 1X

About the role

The Diesel Mechanic 1X will ensure efficient and economical maintenance of all vehicles and equipment for Rent-a-Drum and its sister companies. You will plan, organise, report and coordinate service activities to keep the fleet operating safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all company vehicles.
• Maintain and service a wide range of heavy‑duty equipment.
• Open and close job cards, documenting work performed and parts used.
• Supervise the workshop, manage staff and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Standby for emergency breakdowns and provide rapid response to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• Heavy‑duty driver’s licence (Code C1 – CE).
• Qualified petrol and diesel mechanic, Level 3.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Hydraulic and auto‑electrical experience is an advantage.

• Heavy‑duty driver licence (C1 – CE).
• Petrol and diesel mechanic certification (Level 3).
• Hydraulic system maintenance.
• Auto‑electrical system troubleshooting.
