Chief Executive Officer

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead Namibia 30 Index (NAX30) from its headquarters in Oshakati, providing strategic direction and operational oversight for the benchmark that tracks the performance of 30 listed companies on the Namibia Securities Exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the organization’s vision, strategy and long‑term roadmap.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting and reporting for the index.
• Coordinate index operations, governance processes and compliance with disclosure standards.
• Guide business planning, growth initiatives and partnership development within the capital‑markets ecosystem.
• Represent NAX30 to regulators, investors, institutional partners and other key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team to ensure high performance and transparency.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance and capital markets, preferably with experience in indices, securities exchanges or investment‑related organisations.
• Proven expertise in operations management and organisational leadership, managing complex, cross‑functional processes.
• Demonstrated experience in business and strategic planning, setting long‑term objectives and overseeing implementation.
• Track record in sales, stakeholder engagement and relationship management with regulators and market participants.
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities, with a high level of integrity and commitment to transparency.
• Strong communication skills, able to present complex market concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in African or emerging markets, particularly Namibia, is highly beneficial.
