Business Development Officer – Windhoek

About the role

Santam Namibia is seeking an ambitious Business Development Officer to be based in Windhoek. The role focuses on driving sustainable financial growth by developing relationships with intermediaries, direct and referral partners, and by identifying new market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with intermediaries, referral partners and other business partners.
• Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives that create new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal business units and the wider Santam Group to deliver on partnership opportunities.
• Monitor legislative changes and communicate relevant opportunities to stakeholders.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with new and existing customers.

Required profile

• Minimum of 22 points in Grade 11 (new curriculum) or Grade 12 (old curriculum).
• Degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Business or Commerce.
• At least 3 years of middle‑management experience in business development or sales.
• Experience managing referral partner relationships; direct‑sales experience is a plus.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA).
