Banking & Finance Legal Advisor – Investment Banking

About the role

RMB Namibia is looking for a highly skilled Banking & Finance Lawyer to join its Investment Banking team. The role involves providing legal solutions to complex financing transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with business units across Namibia and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and advise on corporate lending, acquisition finance, project finance, leveraged finance, asset‑backed lending and other structured finance deals.
• Draft, review and negotiate financing agreements and security documentation.
• Provide end‑to‑end legal support from deal origination through to closing.
• Guide the Investment Banking team on Namibian banking, finance and financial markets regulations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on products and transactions.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and other internal partners to maintain strong governance.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks associated with investment banking activities.
• Develop standard documentation, legal frameworks and processes to improve efficiency.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, external counsel, regulators and transaction counterparties.

Required profile

• Commercially minded legal professional with strong judgment.
• Proactive, solutions‑driven approach to complex financing matters.
• Ability to balance technical legal excellence with commercial considerations.
• Experience advising on a broad range of financing transactions.
