About the role
The Accounts Clerk – Revenue/Levies supports the Finance Department by handling invoicing, collections, and cash‑flow management for levies and revenue streams. The role ensures accurate receivable records and timely cash receipts under supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Invoicing & billing: prepare and issue levies and revenue invoices, record payments, apply penalties and interest as required.
- Collections: contact customers to chase overdue invoices, document disputes and escalate high‑risk accounts.
- Reconciliations: perform daily cash posting, petty‑cash top‑ups, reconcile debtors listings and conduct weekly bank reconciliations.
- Bank reconciliation: import bank feeds, match transactions, investigate reconciling items and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Aging & analysis: produce debtor age analysis, identify high‑risk accounts and recommend recovery actions.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- At least 2 years experience in a junior accounting or receivables support role (fresh graduates may be considered).
- Strong attention to detail, organized, punctual and able to work under supervision.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a team environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
- Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, QuickBooks or Sage.
