Trainee Financial Advisor

About the role

The Trainee Financial Advisor will attract, acquire and retain clients by selling the company’s financial products and delivering after‑sales service. The role supports client financial wellness, contributes to market share growth and aligns with the organisation’s long‑term business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Engage prospective clients, present product features and conduct affordability analyses to meet their financial goals.
• Provide financial advice, including tax and legal implications, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
• Accurately capture client information, complete administrative and reporting tasks within set timeframes.
• Investigate and resolve client queries, escalating to relevant departments when necessary.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders, recommending service improvements.
• Identify cost‑effective solutions, manage resources responsibly and contribute to risk identification processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years experience in a financial advice role (essential) and 13 years in financial services (desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and insurance proficiency certificates.
• Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, planning, influencing and interpersonal skills.
