Tourism Inspector (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Namibia Tourism Board is seeking four qualified Tourism Inspectors to carry out regulatory, advisory and quality‑assurance functions across several regions. Inspectors will ensure tourism service providers meet legal standards and contribute to the development of sustainable tourism.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare itineraries and conduct registration and routine inspections of accommodation establishments and regulated tourism businesses.
• Ensure compliance with the Namibia Tourism Board Act and related regulations, and compile inspection reports for quality grading.
• Provide advisory services to operators, collect data for the tourism database, and support tourism development initiatives.
• Conduct investigations of unregistered providers, liaise with police and courts, and attend legal proceedings when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records in the Tourism Database and manual filing systems.
• Support community‑based tourism projects and assist with capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Hospitality or Tourism.
• Minimum four years’ experience in the tourism industry, including at least two years in a managerial or supervisory role.
