Syrup Maker

About the role

The Syrup Maker is responsible for producing and supplying high‑quality syrup batches for beverage production at Coca‑Cola Beverages Africa Namibia. Reporting to the Processing Team Leader, the role ensures smooth operation of the syrup room and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare simple and final syrup batches according to specifications.
• Ensure the correct supply of final syrup to the production line.
• Perform Clean‑In‑Place (CIP) procedures on tanks, piping and syrup‑room equipment.
• Conduct standard quality tests on syrup batches.
• Carry out autonomous maintenance tasks within the syrup room.
• Maintain Health & Safety, HACCP and GMP standards at all times.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
• N3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation disciplines.
• Additional qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or a related field (advantage).
• Previous experience in bottling or beverage manufacturing (advantage).
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Good understanding of hygiene, GMP and food‑safety requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Results‑driven, process‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Forklift driver’s licence (advantage) and knowledge of 5S principles.
• Ability to perform syrup back‑flushing at the end of each shift.
• Experience with SAP; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (advantage).
