Site Administrator & Safety Watcher – Petrochemical Projects

About the role

We are seeking a dual‑function Site Administrator & Safety Watcher to support upcoming petrochemical projects in South Africa and Namibia. The role combines administrative, procurement and HR support with on‑site safety monitoring to ensure smooth operations and strict compliance with ISO and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate project records, filing systems and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Prepare and submit safety checklists, compliance logs and administrative reports.
• Monitor high‑risk activities (confined spaces, hot work, work at height) and enforce permit‑to‑work, LOTO and PPE requirements.
• Support emergency response, track incidents and report hazards or non‑conformances.
• Perform procurement tasks, coordinate material logistics and manage office supplies under the Construction Manager’s supervision.
• Assist with site HR duties such as attendance tracking, induction records and staff documentation.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Recognised SHE Representative training (MERSETA, CETA, HWSETA or equivalent).
• First Aid, Firefighting and Emergency Response certification.
• Valid Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certificates and a driver’s licence.
• Minimum 1‑3 years combined experience in site administration or safety watching within petrochemical, oil & gas or heavy‑industrial environments.

Required skills

• Permit‑to‑Work system knowledge.
• Risk assessment and incident investigation expertise.
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 familiarity (advantageous).
• Working at Heights training.
• Confined Space Entry training.
