Side Loader Assistant – Short Haul (Walvis Bay)

About the role

Wesbank Transport, a division of FP du Toit Transport, is seeking a Side Loader Assistant for short‑haul operations at its Walvis Bay depot in Namibia.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Side Loader Operator and act as spotter to ensure safe manoeuvring in tight spaces.
• Hook and unhook chains to containers and ensure locks are secured.
• Attach slings, hooks or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.
• Manoeuvre equipment according to the operator’s instructions and operating procedures.
• Clean side loaders and perform any other duties as requested.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with Grade 10 education.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant transport industry experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Code CE driver’s licence; PDP (Dangerous Goods) certification is an advantage.
• Valid Code of Conduct certificate (not older than 3 months).
• High attention to detail and sober habits.
