Retail Sales Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven and people‑focused Sales & Operations Manager to lead sales strategy, operational excellence and sustainable growth in Namibia’s FMCG market. The role will provide strategic direction across sales, key accounts, field sales, merchandising and operations, creating a high‑performance environment where teams are empowered and accountable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall sales and commercial strategy to deliver revenue, profitability and market growth.
• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability and continuous development.
• Identify and drive new business, customer, channel and market growth opportunities across formal and informal trade.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, buying groups and supplier principals.
• Oversee in‑trade operations ensuring product availability, distribution, visibility, merchandising and promotional execution.
• Align sales, key accounts, procurement, warehousing and distribution to support stock availability and customer service excellence.
• Provide oversight of demand planning, inventory risks, promotional activity and returns, balancing growth opportunities with working capital.
• Monitor sales and operational performance, addressing service gaps and execution opportunities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 secondary education plus additional sales, marketing or management qualifications.
• Up to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in operational leadership within FMCG, preferably in a perishable environment.
• Proven brand management and sales track record, with project‑management experience from concept to rollout.
• Namibian citizenship or permanent residence.
• Fluent communication in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent people skills and maturity to interact effectively with clients and team members.
