Part‑time Artificial Intelligence Researcher (Hybrid)

About the role

Tangison Technologies is looking for a part‑time Artificial Intelligence Researcher to join its hybrid team in Windhoek. The researcher will design, prototype and evaluate machine‑learning and pattern‑recognition models that address both client needs and internal product development.

Key responsibilities

• Review academic and industry literature to identify research gaps.
• Formulate research questions and design experiments using real‑world datasets.
• Build and test predictive models, ensuring rigorous statistical analysis of results.
• Document findings, prepare technical reports and present insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers and product teams to translate research outputs into scalable, ethical AI solutions.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, algorithms, data structures and software engineering.
• Expertise in pattern recognition and machine learning with a track record of building predictive models.
• Proficiency in data science and statistics, including data preprocessing and exploratory analysis.
• Demonstrated research skills: literature review, hypothesis formulation, experimental design and technical writing.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field; postgraduate study in AI/ML is a plus.
• Interest in sovereign AI, data privacy and locally relevant technology solutions for the African context.
