About the role
Retail merchandisers ensure the right amount of goods is available in store and sold at the right price, working closely with sales representatives to plan product ranges. The role involves daily execution of sales objectives in line with agreed standards, planograms, and forward share targets.
Key responsibilities
- Daily in‑store merchandising against sales objectives, promotions, and forward share goals (displays, gondolas, forward share).
- Display products to stimulate interest and encourage purchases.
- Conduct catalogue stock counts to support quick order generation.
- Follow up and control EDI order execution.
- Merchandise to planogram and rotate stock following FIFO principles.
- Prepare claims to support timely weekly processing in line with returns policy.
- Support stock receipts, offloading, and review deliveries against orders, checking shelf‑life parameters.
- Build partnerships with customers to achieve planned sales volume.
- Control promotional assets and equipment in store.
- Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Required profile
- Grade 10 education.
- At least two years’ experience in merchandising or field sales within the FMCG environment.
