Merchandiser (Full Time)

About the role

Retail merchandisers ensure the right amount of goods is available in store and sold at the right price. They work closely with sales representatives to plan product ranges and execute daily sales objectives in line with planograms and forward share targets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily in‑store merchandising against sales objectives, promotions and forward‑share targets (displays, gondolas, forward share).
• Arrange product displays to stimulate interest and encourage purchases.
• Perform catalogue stock counts to support quick order generation and placement.
• Follow up and control EDI order execution.
• Merchandise to planogram and rotate warehouse stock following FIFO principles.
• Prepare claims to support timely weekly processing in line with returns policy.
• Support stock receipts, off‑loading and review deliveries against orders, checking shelf‑life parameters.
• Build partnership with customers and achieve planned volume sales budget.
• Control promotional assets and equipment in store.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, SOPs and health, safety and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification.
• At least two years’ experience in merchandising or field sales within the FMCG environment.
