Freight Controller – Pro-Parcel Walvis Bay

About the role

This position reports to the Depot Manager and is based in Walvis Bay. The Freight Controller is responsible for handling consignments, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting safe loading and unloading of vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Sorting, picking, verifying, and packing of consignments
• Scanning of consignments
• Labelling of parcels with barcode stickers
• Efficient and effective loading/offloading of vehicles, reporting damages or anomalies to the supervisor immediately
• Housekeeping – keeping the working area clean and neat
• Comparing waybills and client documentation to freight/consignment loaded and/or delivered
• Adhering to health and safety regulations
• Adhering to security measures including inspections and quality checks
• Performing other general duties in line with the responsibilities and scope of a Freight Controller

Required profile

• Valid Grade 10/12 certificate
• 1‑2 years’ experience (advantageous)
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
• Willingness to work overtime and shifts
• Physically fit to handle large and heavy freight
• Attention to detail, reliable and dependable
• Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months) with no criminal record
• Namibian citizenship
