Flatbed Driver (Local) – Container Department

About the role

Wesbank Transport is seeking a reliable Flatbed Driver to join its Container Department at the Walvis Bay depot. The role involves transporting containers and break‑bulk cargo across Namibia while ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Transport and deliver containers and break‑bulk to various customers within Namibia, submitting complete documentation on return.
• Collect containers and break‑bulk from customers and deliver them undamaged with correct paperwork.
• Conduct pre‑trip vehicle and equipment inspections and report any defects immediately.
• Complete daily tip sheets and MDC logbook entries as instructed.
• Handle cargo responsibly to avoid damage and follow all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with a valid Code CE driver’s licence and a valid PDP (Dangerous Goods) endorsement.
• Grade 12 education and at least five years of relevant transport experience.
• Recent police clearance (not older than three months) with no criminal record.
• Excellent driving, interpersonal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high attention to detail and sober habits.

Required skills

• Code CE driver’s licence.
• PDP Dangerous Goods certification.
• Hazchem certification (advantageous).
