Driver & Maintenance Assistant (Head Office, Windhoek)

About the role

The Namibia Tourism Board seeks a reliable Driver & Maintenance Assistant to provide safe transportation for staff and visitors while supporting basic upkeep of the office premises, equipment, and vehicles. The role ensures smooth daily operations through dependable driving, routine vehicle checks, and general maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff, visitors, and materials safely to designated locations, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, roadworthiness, and fuel levels.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections (oil, water, tire pressure, lights) and report faults or service needs.
• Assist with minor facility repairs, office rearrangements, equipment setups, and errands such as deliveries and collections.
• Maintain accurate logs for vehicle movement, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, insurance, registration, and safety regulations for all fleet vehicles.

Required profile

• Grade 10 (NQF level 3) secondary education certificate; vocational training is an advantage.
• Valid professional driver’s licence (Class B, C or D as appropriate).
• Minimum three (3) years of professional driving experience, preferably in a public‑sector environment.
• Demonstrated basic handyman abilities and physical fitness for manual tasks.
