Diesel Mechanic – Windhoek

About the role

This full‑time position is based in Windhoek and reports to the Workshop Manager. The role involves maintaining and repairing a fleet of trucks, trailers and related transport equipment, ensuring they remain operational and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on trucks, trailers and other transport equipment.
• Carry out other general duties expected of a diesel mechanic.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with a valid CE driver’s licence.
• Grade 12 and qualified diesel mechanic (trade test completed) with at least 3 years’ experience in the transport/automotive industry.
• Excellent knowledge of equipment, trucks and forklifts, hydraulics and electronics (e.g., Mercedes Benz Actros, Scania P310).
• Valid police clearance (not older than 3 months) and sober habits.
• Open‑minded, willing to learn, computer literate and able to work under pressure as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to supervise others.
• Good understanding of applicable health and safety laws.

Required skills

• Experience with Mercedes Benz Actros and Scania P310 vehicles.
• Proficiency in hydraulics systems.
• Proficiency in electronics systems.
• Diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
