Deputy General Manager – Namibia

About the role

The Deputy General Manager will support and deputize for the Namibia General Manager, providing senior country leadership and ensuring continuity of decision‑making and external representation. This role bridges strategy and execution across commercial, legal, compliance, HSE, supply chain, HR and technical functions, safeguarding Azule Energy’s licence to operate.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the General Manager’s deputy, maintaining leadership continuity and representing the company externally when delegated.
• Coordinate country‑wide priorities across all functional areas, translating strategy into actionable plans and follow‑up mechanisms.
• Prepare concise updates, decision notes and escalation briefs for senior governance bodies.
• Maintain a strong network with national authorities, regulators and community leaders, supporting high‑level institutional engagement.
• Map key stakeholders, identify sensitivities and define escalation routes for the General Manager.
• Own and maintain the country risk register, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, assigned, mitigated and escalated as needed.
• Provide forward‑looking advice on political, regulatory, social and reputational developments.
• Oversee local content commitments, ensuring measurable actions, clear ownership and reporting across supply chain, HR and technical functions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a country or regional management role, preferably within the energy sector.
• Deep understanding of political, regulatory and community landscapes in Namibia.
• Demonstrated ability to manage institutional relationships and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong risk‑management expertise with experience maintaining risk registers and driving mitigation plans.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication and decision‑making skills.
