About the role

ACDC Express is seeking a friendly, customer‑focused Cashier to join its team. The role involves processing transactions accurately, handling cash and card payments, and delivering excellent service while keeping the checkout area tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Receive cash, card, and electronic payments and issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges.
• Maintain correct pricing, accurate cash handling, and a clean checkout area.
• Greet and assist customers professionally, resolve queries and escalate issues when needed.
• Promote and cross‑sell products where appropriate and follow company policies.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ experience as a cashier or in a retail customer service role.
• Basic computer literacy and strong numerical cash‑handling abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and a clear criminal and credit record.
