Contractor - IT Asset Management

About the role

FNB is looking for a Contractor to support the governance, administration and lifecycle management of the bank's IT assets. You will ensure accurate asset records, effective inventory control and audit readiness while adhering to IT Asset Management policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of IT hardware assets.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date enterprise IT asset register and ensure timely tagging.
• Perform regular reconciliations between physical inventory, asset management systems and financial records.
• Conduct periodic physical asset verification exercises.
• Coordinate IT warehouse operations, including stock control, receiving, issuing and inventory counts.
• Handle warranty claims, vendor returns and asset refresh programmes.
• Prepare monthly IT Asset Management reports, dashboards and audit evidence.
• Support internal and external audits by providing complete and accurate asset records.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory requirements and audit recommendations.
• Identify and implement improvements to ITAM processes, governance, reporting and automation.

Required profile

• Grade 12, with a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field (advantageous).
• Strong administrative, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and effective stakeholder communication.
