CNC Technical Lead

About the role

iPrint Namibia is seeking an experienced, hands‑on CNC Technical Lead to own the CNC production and technical fabrication function. This role goes beyond operating machinery; it involves leading a team, ensuring technical accuracy from design to hand‑over, and maintaining high‑quality standards for signage and branding projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all CNC production activities.
• Interpret drawings, artwork, dimensions and technical job specifications.
• Prepare, verify and optimise CNC files, toolpaths and machine settings.
• Set up and operate CNC routers and related equipment.
• Supervise CNC operators and junior technical staff.
• Select appropriate materials, tooling, feeds, speeds and cutting methods.
• Oversee fabrication of signage, 3D letters, ACM signs, acrylic signage, structures and custom branding elements.
• Monitor quality, measurements, finishing and workmanship.
• Reduce material waste, re‑work and production errors.
• Troubleshoot CNC machinery and resolve technical production problems.
• Coordinate routine machine maintenance and technical care.
• Train and develop CNC operators and technical team members.
• Enforce workshop safety, machine safety and good housekeeping.
• Collaborate with Operations, Workshop, Design, Sales and Installation teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years practical CNC machining, fabrication or related production experience.
• Proven ability to supervise, train and lead a technical production team.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and quality‑control focus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Required skills

• CNC router operation and setup.
• CNC programming, CAD/CAM and toolpath preparation.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Knowledge of materials such as acrylic, ACM, aluminium, steel, PVC, MDF and wood.
• Understanding of CNC tooling, cutting methods, speeds and feeds.
• Machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
• Quality‑control techniques.
