Auto Workshop Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Auto Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop in Windhoek. The successful candidate will oversee daily vehicle job targets, ensure high‑quality repairs, and maintain efficient workflow while managing a skilled team of mechanics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and discipline the workshop team to achieve high performance.
• Plan and allocate daily job cards to meet throughput targets.
• Monitor workflow to minimise vehicle downtime and turnaround times.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with quality standards before vehicles return to service.
• Coordinate parts ordering and consumables, liaising with the stock department to avoid delays.
• Sign off on job cards, service records, inspection reports, preventative maintenance schedules and daily productivity reports.
• Schedule staff, manage vehicle breakdown call‑outs, and maintain service history logs.
• Enforce health, safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Identify training needs and support staff development.
• Work weekends and public holidays as required.

Required profile

• Qualified mechanic with at least 10 years of hands‑on experience, including a management role.
• Proven ability to lead a team with authority, respect and accountability.
• Strong organisational skills to manage workflow, priorities and deadlines under pressure.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken.
• Valid driving licence and personal transport.
• Residence in Windhoek.

Required skills

• Experience working on Toyota Hilux vehicles.
• Experience working on Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles.
